Services Offered
Each month we strive to offer a
variety of activities that would be of interest for the different age
groups. We make an effort to consider cost and travel. We try to offer
"popular" field trips and workshops every few years.
Field Trips/Workshops/Special Events/Classes
Field trips are events where we go to a facility for a
tour. Workshops are hands-on activities or a person giving a
presentation. Special Events are sponsored by Heritage Builders members
and include parties, competitions and family programs. We also offer
various classes throughout the year that are taught by our members or
carefully selected professionals. The classes are held weekly and
usually last 4-8 weeks. Past classes have included art, science,
history, geography, speech, drama, Spanish, and others. These are meant
to enrich the academic studies taught at home. These opportunities are
fully explained in the quarterly Newsletter.
Middle School Group
FOCUS, (Friends of Christ Unconditionally
Serving), is a sub-set group for our students in grades 6
through 8. FOCUS offers additional social events and service projects
above and beyond those offered in the parent group (Heritage Builders).
High School Group
ENERGY, (Educating a New
generation of Energetic, Responsible, Godly
Youth), is a sub-set group for our students in
grades 9* through 12. ENERGY offers additional classes, fieldtrips,
social events and service projects for teens above and beyond those
offered in the parent group (Heritage Builders).
*Student must be at least 14 years of age by September 1st.
HBCA
is an extension of HBHE and exists to help meet the needs of home
educators by offering core high school courses taught by qualified
Christian teachers, promoting a spirit of excellence, from a Christian
perspective consistent with a Biblical world view.
(Student
must be at least 14 years of age by September 1st.)
TITUS 2 Fellowships
We
believe that the Biblical mandate for the older women to teach the
younger women applies to home school moms. We want to encourage women
at all stages of home schooling to continue the work God has called
them to. This is a Moms-only meeting* in order that we will not be
distracted from discussing topics relevant to home educators and
praying for our children.
*Nursing/lap infants, are, of course, welcome.
Family Fellowship Opportunities
We
also try to offer several family fellowship events throughout the year.
Some of these include the Family Picnic, Summer and Fall Park Days,
Parents' Night Out, and the Year End Program.
