Heritage Builders is a cooperative group and each member is obligated to coordinate one event during the school year to fulfill membership requirements. Step-by-step instructions are available on our website and additional assistance is available through our Events Management Team (events@hbhe.org).

What is an Event?

For an event to be viable and considered for acceptance by the Event Management Team, the event must first meet the following criteria:

1. Events must uphold the HBHE mission statement and values.

2. Events must be held within a 10 mile radius of Brownsburg unless the event is location specific (i.e. field trips – museums, historical locations, etc., or special class offerings). Preferred locations to hold events can be found on the events checklist.

3. Event settings for attendance:

   1. Class size maximum cannot be less than 10 people (2 classes being offered for 5 or more people would be an acceptable variation)

   2. Class minimum cannot be greater than 35. This could quickly eliminate a great event just because a large number of people did not sign up.

Final review and approval of each event will be conducted by the Event Management Team. If an event is not acceptable, they will communicate back to the prospective coordinator(s). The Event Management team will either provide assistance to improve an event to make it acceptable or ask the prospective coordinator to coordinate another event.

If an event that meets the above requirements and is approved and scheduled by the Event Management Team does NOT occur due to lack of follow-through by the coordinator, please refer to the Handbook section referring to the  Consequences for not meeting event entry deadlines.

Event Entry Deadlines

This year we have deadlines by which the events must be entered into the online calendar. Each member must have an event fully entered into the online calendar by one of the dates below, in order to register family members for Heritage Builders events this year.

Additional events (those not required in order to meet membership requirements) may be entered into the online calendar at any time. Please note: the event must be entered by the Monday 2 weeks prior to mass registration. (July 27, 2009; October 26, 2009; or January 25, 2010)

Mass Registration Dates for 2009-2010 (Dates in which we register for our events)

August 11-13 for events in August, September, October, and November

November 10-12 for events in December, January, and February

February 9-11 for events in March, April and May
