Our Leadership

Board of Directors

This is the governing body of Heritage Builders whose primary purpose is to see that HB adheres to the mission statement. The Board of Directors consists of the following: Chairman of the Board, Advisory Board, Treasurers, Secretary, Event Manager, System Administrator, and an ENERGY representative.

(The Board of Directors is a volunteer committee consisting exclusively of active members from Heritage Builders Home Educators. These volunteers are committed to the success of Heritage Builders Home Educators and are hereby indemnified of any and all liability that may be brought onto Heritage Builders Home Educators)


Advisory Board

A group of 3-5 experienced home educators (minimum of 2 years) who have been members of HBHE for a period of at least one (1) year. Their responsibilities include: establishing and updating policies and procedures, making recommendations to the Board of Directors on the future direction of the group, handling discipline issues, and staffing the leadership positions.

Treasurers

Two persons who work together in a "checks-and-balances" fashion. They receive membership dues, make deposits, reconcile and balance the checkbook on a monthly basis, receive event registration payments and reconcile the event registrations online, write checks to event locations and teachers as required and are the liaisons to our accountant.

Secretary

Receives registration forms, maintains a master roster, takes minutes at meetings, creates membership directory, oversees and is the "voice on the board" for the following committees:
  • Communications – Manages weekly email news.
  • New Members Committee - Receives calls or emails from prospective members.
  • Webmaster - Writes website program and keeps website information up to date.

Events Manager

Search for new activity ideas. Organizes and maintains the event calendar by working with the Events Team to give direction and advice to the coordinators, make sure event information online is complete and accurate, oversees and is the "voice on the board" for the following committees:
  • Events Team – Support team to assist in the monitoring and management of events and their coordinators.
  • FOCUS – Heads meetings & recruits and manages event coordinators for 6th-8th grade events & service projects.
  • ENERGY – Heads meetings & recruits and manages event coordinators for 9th-12th grade events & service projects.

System Administrator

Monitor the on-line registration system, educate and assist new members as needed, and serve as source of contact with online-system supplier.

Cornerstone Academy Management Team

A council of members who determineour High School classes, find teachers, set policies, manage the parent volunteers and the day-to-day requirements of the classes.
