Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain...
Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

Cornerstone Academy

(An Extension of Heritage Builders Home Educators, Inc.)

We offer a wide range of core and elective courses for students in grades 9 through 12. (8th graders may enroll in Algebra I.) Since our courses support home education, they are predominately independent study classes in which the teacher determines the curriculum and course of study, lectures once a week in a live class environment, evaluates the students' exams and essays by providing objective scores with constructive feedback, and serves as a resource when students require outside assistance. (Classes are held in a church just south of Brownsburg.)

Parental Oversight: We understand parents to be responsible for their children's education, regardless of the medium they choose. We assume parents will actively supervise their children as necessary in all aspects of our courses, including deadline management and academic performance. We also assume parents will remain aware of and responsible for their children's behavior during class time and in any correspondence with their teachers or school staff.

Mission Statement

Heritage Builders' Cornerstone Academy exists to help meet the needs of home educators by offering core high school courses taught by qualified Christian teachers, promoting a spirit of excellence, from a Christian perspective consistent with a Biblical world view.

Eligibility

Students whose families are members in good standing with Heritage Builders Home Educators, Inc. may be enrolled in Cornerstone Academy.  Registration and financial payment is made through Heritage Builders.  Classes of Cornerstone Academy are open only to 9th-12th grade, except for Algebra I which is open to 8th-12th grade.  8th grade students registering for Algebra I must be 13 years old by September 1 and will be required to pass a placement test.  All other students must be registered as 9th-12th graders and be 14 years old by September 1 when registering for classes.  Our registration process is an honor system which assumes a parent will not register a student for a class for which he or she is not eligible.

8th graders enrolled in Algebra I at Cornerstone Academy

8th graders may not arrive for Algebra I until 15 minutes before class is to begin and must be picked up immediately after class ends. They may not stay throughout the day. If an 8th grader enrolls in Algebra I they must be 13 by September 1 of the school year.

Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

"Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone.

It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on.

Whoever believes need never be shaken."

Isaiah 28:16
